How to Get Used to Cold Water

Cold water is not good for your body, however, if you've just finished playing a game of volleyball during the summer, some people may beg to differ. Here's how to get used to drinking cold water.

Steps

  1. From now on, try not to eat hot food too often. "Often" means more than once a week. This is because your stomach will get confused if you drink freezing water and eat hot food.
  2. Drink warm water almost all of the time. In this sense, warm means room temperature. Don't drink tap, just drink bottled water.
  3. Eat dairy and bread products. It helps (though I don't know why.)
  4. Shower in slightly cold water-you don't want to get hypothermia, though you don't want to be in hot water, either.

Tips

  • Take it slowly and gradually, and you will be able to drink cold water for the rest of your life even if you don't follow the steps above, as long as you do the steps for about a month or more.
Warnings

  • Be aware that if you are pregnant, you should not drink lots of cold water.
  • If you drink to much cold water, your stomach will hurt no matter what.
